I was deeply honored when asked to cover the The Friends of the IDF dinner as press. Last year I snuck in … this time, I went like a mensch:)
The usual cast of vultures, Jew haters, and zombies were protesting the Jews and their homeland across from the Waldorf, where the dinner takes place annually. The good news? This year the turnout for the Jew haters was a fraction of last year's (last year's coverage here).
75 haters tops
Meanwhile on the other side of evil …….. there is ….good. Inside the Waldorf was the IDF soldier, the icon for the beleaguered Jew fighting for survival of a tiny minority.
Jews having dinner need heavy security. The hatred of the good for being good.
Beautiful boys
The girls are so gorgeous
Me and the girls :)
Atlas and Major General Benjamin Gantz
Let me say, it's these moments that I love what I do. What a beautiful evening. The feeling in the room is …. indescribable. Everyone here knows what's at stake, knows what we are fighting for, understands how precious and beautiful life is. Every moment.
These young Jewish people are the basis of Israel's strength, love, and power. I was honored to be in the room with them. And I believe them when they look me dead in the eye and say, "don't worry, they will never beat us. Never".
Atlas and Dr. Ruth!
She shared no new tips … sorry fellas!
UPDATE: The Silent Majority carried the anti-semitic protest here.
